How to make Ragi Choco Chip Cookies?

Introduction: 

Ragi is an Indian Super Food. It is a Millet that's packed with nutrients. It has more than 80 times calcium than wheat and rice. Ragi is especially great for kids. In fact, in the south India, it is one of the first foods given to the kids.Ragi is also called Nachni in north India and finger millet in English.

 

Ingredients: 
  • Ragi Flour
  • Whole Wheat flour
  • Cold Milk
  • Cold Butter
  • Baking Powder
  • Sugar or Jaggery
  • Vanilla Essense
ingredients needed to make eggless ragi cookies- 
  • Ragi flour, 
  • whole wheat flour,
  •  milk, 
  • baking powder, 
  • vanilla extract, 
  • Raw sugar, 
  • butter
  • Leave out the chocolate chips to make plain Ragi Cookies. 
Steps to make eggless ragi cookies:

Step 1: 
Measure all the dry ingredients.



Step 2: 

Cut the butter into small cubes. Make sure it's still cold and firm. Rub the butter in the millet flour this step will make the cookies crunchy. 





Step 3: 

Once all the butter pieces have been rubbed into the flour, add the milk and vanilla essence. Make the ragi cookies dough. Add the chocolate chips to the dough and incorporate it in the dough.







Step 4:

Put it in the Refrigerator.This step will help to make the butter solid again. When the cold butter melts during the baking process, it makes the cookies crisp. 

Step 5: 

We have to shape the cookies. There are several ways to shape the cookies Such as, Ball and Press, cut ut the cookies or make perfect circles.



Step 6: 
You can refrigerate the cookies again at this stage. Do this if you are not immediately sticking them in the oven.

Step 7:
For baking we need to preheat the oven at 180 C or 365F. This should be done before sticking the cookies in the oven. Otherwise the cookies will not cook evenly.

Step 8:
Place the cookies inside. Make sure you put them in the middle rack. Not too much on top or bottom so all sides will cook evenly.

Step 9:

After it gets cooked evenly we can serve it on the plate.
